Use the image and video host

What the image host is

The image host stores your images and videos and gives each one a short, shareable link with a rich preview. It is a separate one-time Image Host product — see Premium and billing.

It works great with screenshot tools and as a drag-and-drop uploader in the dashboard.

Connect the desktop uploader

1. 1Open Dashboard → Image Host.
2. 2Press Download uploader setup (the .sxcu config).
3. 3Open the downloaded file once with your screenshot uploader (for example ShareX).
4. 4New captures now upload to your account automatically and copy the link.

Upload from the dashboard

1. 1Open Dashboard → Image Host.
2. 2Drag files in or use the upload button.
3. 3Copy the link, direct link, or deletion link for each item.

Supported files and limits

Images can be JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or AVIF up to 20 MB. Videos can be MP4, WebM, MOV, or M4V up to 100 MB. SVG files are not accepted for safety.

Your account has a file count limit and a total storage quota. You can buy more storage if you run out (below).

Choose how links look

Preferred domain chooses the domain used in generated links, including a verified custom domain if you have one. Link style can use a random text slug or an emoji slug.

Control social previews

1. 1Choose whether a shared link opens a preview page or the raw media.
2. 2Set a default preview title and description if wanted.
3. 3Choose whether the preview identifies the uploader.
4. 4Save the image host settings.

Manage uploads and the Recycle Bin

Deleted media goes to the Recycle Bin and is permanently removed after 7 days. While there it does not count toward your storage. You can restore an item before it expires or delete it permanently.

1. 1Find the item under Your uploads.
2. 2Copy its link to share it.
3. 3Use Edit to change its title, description, or accessibility text.
4. 4Move an item to the Recycle Bin when you no longer need it.

Buy more storage

Each pack adds 10 GB and they stack, so you can buy as many as you need. Extra storage requires Image Host access.

1. 1Open Dashboard → Settings → Billing.
2. 2Choose the extra storage pack and the number of packs you need.
3. 3Complete checkout.
4. 4Your storage limit increases automatically.

Custom domains for your links

If you have a verified custom domain (Premium), it can be used as the Preferred domain so hosted links use your own domain. See “Connect your own domain.”
